Created by Bar Ogilvy and directed by Joao Nuno Pinto through Garage Films, this poignant festive spot for Portuguese energy giant Galp illustrates how the energy that lights our homes also sustains the rituals that make Christmas special.
With thoughtful costume and production design, the film moves through different eras in the life of one family, following a father who, year after year, unboxes the Christmas decorations and gives a hopeful tap to a broken fairy light.
In a tender final moment, we see the family decorating without him, lovingly continuing the ritual of tapping the faulty bulb… and, this time, it finally flickers back to life.
