tenthree promotes Nick Armstrong to partner
Since arriving at tenthree, Armstrong’s mix of discipline, warmth, and creative ambition has become a defining part of tenthree’s culture.
tenthree has promoted editor Nick Armstrong to partner, marking a milestone both for his own five-year journey with the edit house and for the company’s continued growth within the UK’s post-production space.
Since arriving at tenthree, Armstrong’s mix of discipline, warmth, and creative ambition has become a defining part of tenthree’s culture. His promotion, effective immediately, recognises not just his editorial achievements but also his role in shaping the collaborative ethos that has moved tenthree forward.
Managing Director Ed Hoadley said, “Since Nick joined almost five years ago, his work ethic and love for his craft have been clear to see.” He added, “In the past few years his kindness and time for his colleagues, combined with his well-earned success in both long and short form made him an inevitable choice as partner. His ability to grow his reel, look after existing relationships while fostering new ones is a blueprint for tenthree’s future success.”
Armstrong came to tenthree at a moment of momentum for the edit house, drawn in by the mix of craft and community that has long defined its approach. “I looked back to five years ago when I joined tenthree and at the time I said, ‘I was excited to take my career to the next level with this awesome team that has their best work and an exciting future ahead of them.’
The last five years have seen that realised, culminating in winning our first Edit House of the Year Arrow at the British Arrows in 2025,” he reflects. “More than that though, the culture of tenthree built by Billy Mead, Ellie Johnson, Quin William and Ed Hoadley has been at the centre of the success.”
A core part of tenthree’s award-winning work in recent years, Armstrong has collaborated with directors including Will Wightman, Joseph Mann, Jonny & Will, and Nicos Lively. He points to the “dynamism of Will’s Ora Ida spot, the craft of Nicos’ Brit Box spot and any of the characters Jonny & Will have brought to life” as personal highlights, while noting that “every job seems like a career highlight when I get to work with an array of genius directors and collaborators.”
Previously, Armstrong had already built a reputation for thoughtful, emotionally attuned editing across advertising and music videos. His experience spans campaigns for major brands as well as independent projects celebrated for their storytelling precision, a through-line that has continued in his tenure at the edit house.
Looking ahead, Armstrong is optimistic. “The future looks even brighter than when I joined,” he adds. “We’ve continued to strengthen, adding more world-class editors like Eve Ashwell, Dan Sherwin and Sam Bould to the team. We have exciting talent at every level, and the future of these editors and assistants is going to be exciting to watch and support.”
