shots in Cannes 2014
Cannes 2014: shots outlines its plans for the week, what we'll be delivering and where you can find us.
Can you believe it? Here we are again. The Cannes International Festival of Creativity 2014 is upon us and we are set to descend on the French town to flaunt our rigidly observed diets and newly honed bodies, showcase our pre-Cannes tans - real or otherwise - and work out if you really can survive with, essentially, alcohol for blood.
So; Plane tickets? Check
Accomodation info? Check
A suitcase full of newly purchased clothes that will likely be worn once, ruined over the course of one night then, somehow, elements of them lost on the walk back to the appartment? Check
A thirst for learning? Check
A thirst? Check

Creative thinking
Of course, we (sort of) jest. There is also the main reason we're there; the festival itself. And with a feast of fantastic speakers, seminars, workshops and award shows over the course of the week it promises to be a week of great creative insight as well as great networking.
As usual, shots will be there in force and you are now reading the first of our free daily newsletters across this Cannes week. We'll be bringing you interviews with jury members and presidents, insight into work that has won and how decisions were made.
We'll be rounding up the winners of each and every category as well as bringing you sections of this years shots Cannes special magazine which includes interviews with Film jury president Amir Kassaei and Mobile president, Jaime Robinson.
If you are not already a registered user, then register for shots emails here and you’ll get all our coverage from Cannes in your inbox.
There are other things we'll be doing across the week, outlined below, not least the famous shots beach party, and we hope to see many of you there.
Enjoy the week.
shots Beach Party
There’s a beach, there’s music – including Charli XCX, below, from our music partner Warner Music - there’s drink, there’s great people. What more do you need for a great night? A ticket, of course. As ever shots will be hosting its annual beach party - in association with, 1000 Volt, Bang Bang Films, and Post Millenium - on the night of Thursday 19 on the Majestic beach from 10pm.

As ever, it is a ticket-only, subscriber event. If you subscribe to shots, by the time you read this you should already have bagged your allocation but if you need or want to find out more information please either email info@shots.net or visit the shots stand just outside the Palais des Festivals.
The shots Stand
This year the shots stand is located outside the Palais so please feel free to pay us a visit to pick up a free copy of issue 150, the Cannes Special magazine, plus our special shots/BRAD UK football supplement, or to chat to one of our staff about a subscription (and therefore access to the shots Beach Party; we know, shameless).
We also have a special photobooth at the stand which enables you to put yourself on the cover of shots in your very own, specially made image.

For those of you who prefer your news and insight (and random thoughts) in 140 characters or less then you can follow us on Twitter. We will be tweeting regularly during the festival from the addresses below.
