It's been an eventful week all round, with Comic Relief's Red Nose Day drawing the week to a close. So sit back, enjoy and catch up on this week's selection of interestingly-creative (and creatively-interesting) news.

1. Remembering Red Nose Day

Comic Relief’s iconic Red Nose Day kicks off today with many stars and stunts revealing their involvement around the charitable event. The BBC has created an epic top 11 list (because 10 points just aren’t enough). Take a trip down memory lane and remember some of the funniest and most embarrassing moments from the past.

2. World Down Syndrome Day Success

It’s been a busy week. There was International Day of Happiness on Monday, World Water Day on Wednesday and Advertising Week Europe in London. But perhaps the event that seemed to gain most traction this week – at least in advertising – was Tuesday’s World Down Syndrome Day. With various campaigns launched to raise awareness of the condition – including #NotSpecialNeeds – a flashmob in the South of the UK and people wearing colourful socks, there were lots of events to get involved in. Not sure quite what the day entails? The Metro has compiled a definitive guide.

3. Beat the Queue!

Traffic is the burden of everyday life, something that can’t be avoided not matter how rich or famous you may be. But Mashable may have the answer – the Hum Rider. The vehicle can skip traffic by extending up and out to drive over the tops of other cars and reach the front of the queue. Unfortunately, it was just a marketing stunt for Verizon’s Telematic’s Hum platform but hopefully we’re not too far from seeing something like that in future.

4. Twitter to Launch Paid Membership

CBR today announced that Twitter is considering implementing a paid membership scheme in place, offering its users additional features like a rebooted version of TweetDeck. Should this change go ahead, businesses and news organisations are the most likely to be affected although it’s a strange strategy to adopt considering the fact that users are supposedly dwindling and jumping onto other social media platforms.

5. Tune in to Resistance Radio

Imagine if the Nazis had won the war, how different would the world be? Amazon Prime explores this idea in its new series The Man in the High Castle, based on Philip K Dick’s famous novel under the same name. And Campfire at SapientRazorfish has created Resistance Radio, a campaign that brings a fictitious radio show to life in which broadcasts are streamed from around the world with music from Beck, Norah Jones and Karen O. 6. Honey I've Shrunk the Bee Population

Could this campaign BEE any smarter? We're not sure, but it sure does have a lot of BUZZ at the moment. According to the AV Club (A-BEE Club), HONEY Nut Cheerios (OK, that one's a given) have removed their bee mascot from packs to raise awareness of the dwindling bee population around the world. The idea is so good we want to give them a HIVE five. OK, we'll stop now.

7. Cheese Eggs Please!

Could this new product idea BRIE any smarter? So Wrong It's Nom have reported that this year you are able to buy the forage fan in your life an Easter egg made from solid cheese. E-DAMN that sounds delicious! OK, that is the last pun. We don't want you to think we're BABYBELL-ends.

8. Trouble at YouTube

In more serious news, there's been trouble over at YouTube, and by extension Google, with what Reuters called an 'advertiser revolt' over ads being placed on potentially offensive content. Havas are among the big brands departing YouTube, but predictors think many brands will quickly return. And when have predictions ever been wrong in the last year?

9. Piers Morgan Goes on Sponsored Silence for Publicity Charity

It's Red Nose Day, as every parent to a young child already knows as they spent 45 minutes this morning looking for a £2 coin for the kid's non-uniform day. In a moment of blessed relief for us all, Piers Morgan is celebrating the occasion with a sponsored silence in a Spurs shirt according to the Huff Post, who honestly could do with a sponsored silence themselves...

10. Fake News from Westminster Shooting

On Wednesday, London suffered a heartbreaking terrorist attack. What for most of us was a moment for solidarity with the victims and all Londoners became for others a chance to deliberately misinterpret the news for their own political aims. Al Jazeera looked into this phenomenon after their Facebook live broadcast got reinterpreted by the alt-right on other social media outlets.
