Robert Doubal's UK Picks for Cannes 2017
The McCann London co-president and chief creative officer shares the best Great British work from the last year.
Channel 4: We're the Superhumans
It’s a near perfect piece of work. The deeper you go, the better it gets. James Bland at Blink and John Allison and Chris Bovill at 4Creative do a lovely talk on it. There’s so much right with this piece there’s no need to say anything more about it.
The National Lottery: Please Not Them
What impress me are the comic touches. The mirror. The mirror. I love [director] Jeff Low.
H&M: Come Together
Like most pieces of Wes Anderson’s work, it’s expensive, delicious and crafted to perfection. I just have a tiny feeling that the director eclipses the product and idea a little. So it’s not as impressive as it is fantastic and lovely.
HomeAway: Get HomeAway From it All
Saatchi & Saatchi has really dug it out in a tough category and produced a really watchable ad. Great campaign.
Rustlers: 80 Years of Torment
A killer piece of work from Droga5 London. It’s not easy to give comedy a look; in fact it’s a genre on its own, but Steve Rogers at Somesuch has achieved this.
