RadicalMedia welcomes directing duo Sam Cutler-Kreutz and David Cutler-Kreutz to its roster of extraordinary directorial talent.

The Cutler-Kreutz brothers have turned their lifelong passion for filmmaking into a prolific career defined by clever ideas, cinematic visuals, and a shared creative language.

Born and raised in New Jersey, the brothers spent their afternoons making movies in the woods behind their childhood home with a MiniDV camcorder. After initially pursuing separate paths, with Sam working as a cinematographer and David becoming a professional skier, they reunited in 2020 to begin making films together again, just as they had growing up.

“We found that our childhood love for storytelling translated perfectly into directing commercials and writing and directing narrative films,” remarks Sam.

Their first film as a directing duo, Flounder, was named a Vimeo Staff Pick and launched their partnership. Sam & David’s other shorts include Trapped, which premiered at SXSW and earned a Special Jury Award, and A Lien, Executive Produced by Adam McKay, which received an Academy Award nomination for Best Live-Action Short Film.

Sam & David bring the same collaborative spirit and attention to story to their commercial work, creating films that are as unskippable as they are emotionally resonant. Their spots for brands like Adidas, Supreme, Burberry, and NASO have taken them around the world, earning recognition from the YDA ’23 shortlist, Berlin Commercial, 1.4 Awards, and NOWNESS.

“We appreciate Radical’s experience working with narrative directors,” adds David. We’re excited to join a company with such a long history of unforgettable commercial work. We’re incredibly drawn to Jon Kamen’s vision of a creative community, and we’re thrilled to collaborate with Frank Scherma, Jim Bouvet, and Rebecca Niles.”

RadicalMedia President Frank Scherma says of Sam & David, “You can feel their shared love of filmmaking the moment you meet them. They’re all-in on every stage, writing, directing actors, shaping the story through post. That kind of creative focus is exactly what we value at Radical.”
