David Wilson joins Biscuit Filmworks for commercial representation
Wilson’s signing continues Biscuit Filmworks’ commitment to working with boundary-pushing creatives who bring originality, emotion, and impact to every frame.
Biscuit Filmworks announced that David Wilson has joined its global directing roster.
An eclectic storyteller, Wilson expertly weaves together rich, textured, character-filled worlds with inherent musicality, playfulness, and sophisticated execution. His cinematic, even operatic, sensibility infuses all his projects with joy and subversion, bringing a radical viewpoint that transcends the expected.
Wilson’s diverse and storied career encompasses large-scale campaigns, genre-defining music videos, and captivating short films. His brand collaborations include Nike, Apple, Facebook, Etsy, Ikea, O2, Cadbury, Spotify, and LEGO. His work with artists such as Arctic Monkeys, Lady Gaga, David Guetta, Christine and the Queens, Tove Lo, Glass Animals, and Metronomy has solidified his status as a leading voice in music videos, while ongoing creative partnerships with Arcade Fire and Tame Impala highlight his enduring passion for the medium.
Wilson has garnered numerous awards from international festivals and shows, including Cannes Lions, D&AD, Kinsale Sharks, Grammys, Berlin Music Video Awards, Creative Circle, MTV VMAs, EUROBEST, British Arrows, LIA, UKMVAs, and Saatchi & Saatchi’s New Directors Showcase.
Educated at the University of Brighton, Wilson studied Illustration, a conceptual course that honed his ability to quickly respond to creative briefs. It was during this time that he began making films, self-taught, driven by curiosity and experimentation. His foundation in animation informs his approach to mixed-media projects, where he applies an animator’s mindset: graphic thinking, methodical storyboarding, and the use of animatics.
“My aim is to move people emotionally in a positive way,” said Wilson. “I’m excited to be working with Biscuit, as they are a well-established powerhouse with brilliant, amazing, and kind people. We share the same values, so it was an easy choice to make.”
Rupert Reynolds-MacLean, Managing Director of Biscuit Filmworks UK, added: “David is an artist and storyteller who brings joy and delight to everything he makes. I have admired his work for such a long time; he’s a wonderful addition to our roster.”
Jordana Freydberg, Executive Producer at Biscuit, said: “David’s infectious energy and willingness to dive into every collaboration with enthusiasm make him a real force in the industry. That, coupled with his vibrant, culture-defining filmmaking, makes him the perfect fit for our roster.”
