Having recently clashed with UK government ministers and drawn attention at Coachella with their pro-Palestinian messaging, Irish rap trio Kneecap headed into Glastonbury as prime suspects for festival controversy.

Whilst that crown was unexpectedly claimed by Bob Vylan, the band’s defiant stance ahead of the event was perfectly captured in Riff Raff director Finn Keenan’s explosive music video for The Recap.

Created in just over a week, the promo blends frenetic live footage from the festival with animated (both literally and figuratively) escapades of frontman Mo Chara; the track’s politically charged themes underscored by archival imagery of UK politicians, royal symbolism, and provocative headlines.

“It took a lot of incredibly talented and passionate people to come together to make this video in just over a week," comments Keenan. "I can’t believe the trust and support we got from Kneecap and their team. A once-in-a-lifetime kind of job.

"So grateful to each and every one of yiz. More Blacks, More Dogs, More Irish, Mo Chara. X”
