If there’s one IP vying for Christmas attention this year, it’s Dr Seuss’s curmudgeonly cracker, the Grinch, with Walmart joining ASDA and (soon) McDonald’s in borrowing his green getup.

For its festive spot, the US chain has drafted one of 2025’s most recognisable faces – Walton Goggins – to take on the grouchy persona, heading off with Mindi Lou to WhoKnewVille to share some Black Friday deals.

Created in partnership with a collection of Publicis Groupe agencies including Fallon, Leo NY, the community, Contender and Digitas, and directed by Marc Webb of RadicalMedia, the beautifully art-directed spot draws a playful turn from Goggins, who swaps his usual charming menace for something altogether cuddlier.
