Renowned filmmaker and photographer Misan Harriman has signed with Lief for global commercial representation, joining the award-winning production company founded by Margo Mars.

A defining visual voice of our time, Harriman is celebrated for capturing pivotal cultural moments with emotional depth and unwavering truth. From global protests to fashion’s biggest stages, his lens bears witness to the world as it is, and as it could be. Now, he brings that powerful perspective to Lief’s global roster, joining a slate of trailblazing talent committed to purposeful, authentic storytelling.

“I’m very excited to be represented by Lief,” said Harriman. “They are fierce allies to their artists and consistently create memorable and unflinching work. At a time when the stakes are high, storytelling matters more than ever, and Lief understands that.”

“Misan is a one-of-a-kind that I dream about collaborating with,” said Mars, founder of Lief. “The rare package of talent, vision, and presence. In a word: legend.”

From being the first Black man to shoot British Vogue’s September issue in its 100+ year history to earning an Oscar nomination and NAACP Image Award for his short film The After, Harriman’s work transcends disciplines, merging fashion, activism, and humanity into enduring images. He is also known for his advocacy around diversity, migration, mental health, and social justice, making him a natural fit for Lief’s ethos.

“Lief represents filmmakers who shape and define culture,” continued Mars. “Lief represents filmmakers who spend time shaping and defining today’s culture. We combine a deep understanding of the positive impact they can bring with the know-how to create a link that makes a brand’s involvement meaningful. Misan is a perfect fit, as he expands beyond his award-winning work in film and photography, and his artistry is unparalleled.”

The signing marks a bold move for both artist and company, signalling a shared commitment to storytelling that challenges, resonates, and transforms.

Harriman is represented by Casarotto Ramsay & Associates for film and TV, and Loo How for photography.
