With a title as bold as Good Luck Fuck Face and a pair of performances that delight throughout its 11-minute runtime, it's hard to believe this is Oli Beale's first film as director.
An ECD with numerous industry awards under his belt, Beale's first foray behind the camera, shot through Drool Productions, is an assured and immaculately written sketch concerning a pair of friends with the power to destroy an unfaithful partner's reputation with a single tweet.
Aided by Leila Farzad (Black Mirror, I Hate Suzie, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy) and Fiona Button's (The Split, Industry) brilliant comic turns, the film manages to provide laughs, tension, and a cracker of a twist; all of which gets us excited for the director's next offering.
“I hate to admit it but I am quite a vengeful person," explains Beale. "At least I am in my head. This is the story of somebody with way more balls than me actually acting out the kind of thing I think about at 4am when I can't sleep. She's my hero. She took control of a shitty situation. I don't think it will have left her feeling great though. Revenge never does.”
