What’s the best music video you’ve seen recently and why?

It's not quite a typical music video; I'd almost describe it as an extended one.

I'm talking about Spike Jonze's piece for the Apple AirPods 4 launch. I think it's a communication masterpiece, and also features a Spanish artist, Guitarricadelafuente. Beautiful song.

What’s the first music video you remember being impressed by?

My first musical "awakening" was with The Cure - A Forest when I was 13 years old. I vividly remember being mesmerised by the first music video I saw of theirs. It was a truly hypnotic clip, accompanying an exceptional song that remains one of my absolute favourites.

And what’s your all-time favourite music video?

There are several, but I'll choose right now, Massive Attack - Paradise Circus directed by Toby Dye, which by the way, is for me one of the greatest songs ever.

What other directors/artists do you look to for inspiration?

David Lynch, David Bowie, and to continue with 'Davids...', obviously, David Ogilvy.

All three, as different as they could be, all three true geniuses.

What are you listening to at the moment?

Mogwai’s latest release, The Bad Fire. And Soft Tissue from Tindersticks.

What’s your favourite bit of tech, whether for professional or personal use?

Without a doubt: my Airpods.

What artist(s) would you most like to work with and why?

Björk, as in my opinion is one of the most transgressive and emotionally impactful artists, always exploring new ways of communication. Also, Thom Yorke, as is one of my all-time music and creative icons.

How do you feel the Marketing Technology industry has changed since you started in it?

I've worked in this industry for 26 years. The only single thing that hasn't changed at all is… “email”, which remains the predominant communication channel with our clients. Praise to email! Everything else… is quite unrecognisable.

Where do you see the music video industry being in five years’ time?

They will possibly be 30-second clips, generated by an algorithm and customisable to your liking, that will coexist with an extended and immersive piece.

Tell us one thing about yourself that most people won’t know…

I find answers to many questions by observing nature.

By the way, I'd like to add… in my experience, best decisions are always taken alone, in silence.
