Questions4Later gives us EASTERN EUROPEAN 2
LIAKH imagines the suffocating life of an immigrant in London for Question4Later’s single EASTERN EUROPEAN 2.
It’s not cheap to breathe in London, let alone if you are a foreigner. But at least we now have a track and a film about this uneasy experience.
Ukrainian-Canadian artist Questions4Later digs deep in EASTERN EUROPEAN 2, delving into the Eastern European experience in London and its struggles, personified in an ominous mix-media piece by LIAKH and Spindle.
The film combines photos of various immigrant-owned London businesses and the artist’s childhood photos, with Questions4Later getting literally choked out in every scene he is in… Which is exactly how most Eastern Europeans, and especially Ukrainians, felt in the span of the last few years.

Alongside British-Ukrainian director LIAKH, the team behind the film features Ukrainian DoP Ilya Maksymenko and members of the Ukrainian grassroots MMA community “ViBURNUM”, all of whom made London their new home, adding an authentic element to the surreal music video.
LIAKH stated: “I wanted to bring anxiety and turmoil to life. Sometimes you’re the choker and sometimes the choke’s on you.”
Questions4Later adds: “This project is all about the simultaneous embrace of opportunity and prosperity for Eastern Europeans moving to London, alongside a longing for home. This is a window to the Eastern European experience, being choked by pressure and expectation while striving for success.”
