Tinygiant signs director Abigail Horton
The director behind Blow Up My Life joins the WBENC-certified production company, expanding its roster of distinctive voices.
Tinygiant announces the signing of director Abigail Horton to its creatively talented roster.
Known for her distinctive approach to visual comedy and emotionally resonant storytelling, Horton joins the production company at a moment of exciting creative momentum, following a breakout year that saw the success of her feature film Blow Up My Life and acclaimed commercial collaborations with brands like Kraft, Spotify, and General Mills.
Horton’s work effortlessly bridges independent film and advertising, balancing sharp humour, character-driven performances, and a strong cinematic sensibility. Her short films have premiered at festivals including SXSW and Fantastic Fest, earning multiple Vimeo Staff Picks, while her debut feature, Blow Up My Life, starring Jason Selvig (The Good Liars) and Kara Young (two-time Tony winner), was praised by Moviemaker Magazine as being “one of the coolest and most ambitious films we saw this year.”
“I’ve always been drawn to stories that find absurdity in the everyday, whether it’s a romantic software commercial or a short film about racquetball. Tinygiant feels like the perfect home for that kind of storytelling. They champion bold ideas, clever humour, and a collaborative spirit that encourages directors to aim higher.” said Horton.
Horton brings an impressive resume of commercial and branded work, having directed campaigns for Skittles, YouTube and Oreo, with leading agencies including Wieden + Kennedy and The Martin Agency. Her industry recognition goes further, including being named one of Filmmaker Magazine’s 25 New Faces of Independent Film, winning two Gold Cannes Young Director Awards, and a shortlist nomination for the D&AD Next Director Award for her short film Night Stalker.
“Abigail is a force, her work is sharp, surprising, and deeply human,” said Veronica Diaferia, Founder and executive producer at Tinygiant. “She’s fearless in her storytelling and brings a fresh comedic and cinematic edge that aligns perfectly with Tinygiant’s mission to push creative boundaries while staying grounded in authenticity.”
With Horton’s addition, Tinygiant continues to expand its comedy-focused roster, which includes Doron Max Hagay, Chloe Coetsee, and Stoney Sharp.
