Both represented by Art Practice, director and photographer Maria Lax and artist Daniel Eatock have collaborated to craft this poetic and hypnotic film, titled Full Spectrum, for art materials brand Winsor and Newton.
Set to Eatock’s rhythmic and reflective voiceover paired with immersive sound effects, Lax’s macro photography envelops us in the vibrant world of the artist’s creative process, taking us on a multi-sensory adventure through every hue, swirl and smudge of paint.
Lax added: “We’re not just observing colour, we’re inside it. The idea was to strip everything back and let the paint do the talking, showing how colours build the world around us. We leaned into Daniel’s process and translated it into a playful, conceptual film that offers an insight into the mind of an artist. At the heart of this film is a deep respect for his artistic practice.”
Eatock said: “This film is an expression of the truth of colour in the everyday, reflecting the full spectrum of existence, and the brightest and subtlest colours of our feelings and emotions.”
Holly Shires, Global Senior Creative Content Manager shared: "The collaboration between Maria Lax and Daniel Eatock reflects the type of work that Art Practice is keen to initiate: work that celebrates ideas, artistic practice, and the creatives that come together to make it happen."
