Work Editorial welcome multi-award-winning editor Stephen Dunne to its global roster. He will collaborate across Work’s offices in London, New York, and Los Angeles.

Known for his distinct editorial style and storytelling instinct, Dunne’s career spans both acclaimed short and feature films, as well as standout commercial work. He edited the Oscar and BAFTA-winning short An Irish Goodbye, and his feature film debut Last Swim recently won the Crystal Bear Award at the Berlin Film Festival, ahead of its theatrical release this April.

In the commercial world, Dunne has earned three AICP Awards, including Best in Show for the BBC’s Trust is Earned, a powerful spot spotlighting the editorial integrity of BBC journalism. He has also been honoured with multiple Creative Circle Awards, British Arrows, D&AD accolades including Black Pencils, and recognition from Shots and the Kinsale Shark Awards.

Dunne’s ability to craft emotionally resonant, rhythmically driven edits is rooted in his early days as a DJ. His work is known for its finely tuned pacing, thoughtful sound design, and striking visual storytelling.

He began his career at The Quarry, rising to editor at Whitehouse Post, before joining Tenthree. Over the years, Dunne has worked with top-tier directors such as Novemba, Anders Jedenfors, Mischa Rozema, Billy Boyd Cape, and Max Fisher. His commercial credits span global brands including WhatsApp, Nike, Adidas, PlayStation, Gatorade, and Marshall, as well as a robust portfolio of automotive clients including Porsche, Audi, Dodge, Mercedes-Benz, Ford, Hyundai, and Rolls-Royce.

“We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Stephen to Work!” said Jane Dilworth, Founding Partner of Work Editorial. “I’ve admired his work for a long time, and this feels like the perfect fit. His skill across the board is exceptional, and his ability to craft soundscapes that elevate the edit is truly inspiring.”

“Incredible editors making incredible work, what more could you ask for?” said Dunne. “I’m excited to join the Work team.”

Frankie Elster, Executive Producer of Work Editorial London, added, “Stephen has been recognised by nearly every major industry institution for his outstanding work, and deservedly so. We’re thrilled to have him on board and can’t wait to get started.”
