Director Scott Perry joins JOJX
Award-winning director brings emotionally rich storytelling and cultural insight to the Los Angeles-based production company.
Director Scott Perry has officially joined the roster at JOJX, the award-winning production company celebrated for its innovative and boundary-pushing commercial work.
Known for his emotionally resonant, culture-driven storytelling, Perry is a dynamic addition to the studio's growing line-up of visionary filmmakers.
With a signature style rooted in authenticity and cultural observation, Perry’s work blends human storytelling with cinematic visuals. Whether capturing the nuance of everyday emotion or helming campaigns for global brands, his aim remains clear: to connect with audiences through real, unfiltered feeling.
“Sevasti, Joe and Jackson are the reason I came to JOJX,” said Perry. “They have an incredible sense of taste and experience that I know I can learn from. They’ve built exactly the sort of supportive and creative environment I was looking for. I’m excited to refine my vision and push my work even further with them.”
Born and based in New York, Perry began his creative journey through music journalism. What started as an underground hip-hop blog led to roles at XM Radio and MTV, and eventually a position as Creative Director at The FADER, where he worked with the in-house agency Cornerstone. There, Perry directed campaigns for Beats by Dre, YouTube Music, Jack Daniels, New Balance, and Soundcloud, collaborating with artists such as Burna Boy, Dua Lipa, and Khalid.
His commercial work has since grown to include major campaigns for McDonald’s, ASICS, Google, Nike, Amazon, and The New York Times, where he contributed to Droga5’s award-winning Independent Journalism for an Independent Life campaign.
Perry’s culturally attuned eye and emotionally driven visual style also led to collaborations with high-profile fashion and luxury brands including Diesel, and the creation of Good Morning Vogue, Vogue’s fashion news show, which amassed over 15.4 million followers and featured Lil Nas X, Kendall Jenner, and A$AP Ferg. He has directed projects with Serena Williams for Nike, Major Lazer for Amazon Music, and Anuel for an Apple documentary.
“Scott’s ability to blend documentary realism with emotionally charged storytelling is rare,” said Sevasti Buford, Executive Producer and Partner at JOJX. “His work connects across mediums, and his personal drive and ambition align perfectly with JOJX’s goals. We’ve been friends for years, and I’m thrilled to finally support him from within the team.”
Jackson Morton, Partner and Executive Producer, added: “Scott brings energy and an observational perspective that perfectly fits our ethos. He can make any subject—be it a cultural icon or someone entirely new to the camera—feel seen and comfortable.”
Joe Care, Partner and Executive Producer, echoed the sentiment: “I loved how committed he is to commercial filmmaking. That focus won me over instantly.”
Perry’s signing reinforces JOJX’s continued investment in culturally relevant, emotionally resonant storytelling and underlines its mission to support emerging voices in the commercial and branded content space.
