Many an animated character has managed to emote and endear without a mouth - Gromit, Baymax, Maggie Simpson (kinda) - but there are certain impracticalities that come with it.
Such is the quandary faced (pun intended) by the adorable protagonist of this year's Disney holiday short - Best Christmas Ever - in which a young girl's doodle is brought to life in spectacular fashion... even down to the lack of gob from the original scrawling.
Created by adam&eveDDB and directed by Hungry Man's Taika Waititi (returning after last year's winsome ode to friendship), this gorgeously constructed film is filled with the company's charm, flair, and, most importantly, IPs - with the resulting John Goodman-voiced hero going straight to the top of everyone's wish list.
“Working with Disney and Taika again has been a joy," says Ant Nelson & Mike Sutherland, Chief Creative Officers, adam&eveDDB London. "The short celebrates the magic of imagination and unexpected friendships. From the film to interactive doodle experiences, the campaign builds on Disney’s unique connection with families during the holiday season and beyond.”
