Creative studio DROOL, founded by Freddie Powell and Genevieve Sheppard, has announced the signing of rising director Jasper Cable-Alexander.

Known for its collaborative, director-led model, DROOL operates as a true creative collective, bringing the full team into every project, rather than centring on a single director. This wolfpack mentality ensures every client benefits from a wide-ranging pool of expertise, energy, and inventive thinking.

Cable-Alexander has been immersed in filmmaking from a young age. His first project, a stop-motion animation made at age 12, took six painstaking months to complete. By 14, his second film, a documentary, was screened at Dublin’s Cinemagic Film Festival.

His breakout moment came with a bold and inventive campaign for luggage brand Floyd, following a chance connection with the CEO after Cable-Alexander’s suitcase broke. The resulting film, Elevating Every Journey Big or Small, garnered wide acclaim and took home several honours, including the inaugural BOLT award at the Young Arrows in 2024.

Famed for his surreal, stylised worlds and irreverent humour, Cable-Alexander is considered one of the industry’s most exciting new creative voices.

Genevieve Sheppard, EP and Founder of DROOL, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Jasper to the DROOL team sheet. He embodies all the joy, passion and enthusiasm we value at DROOL. He has an obsessive commitment to his craft and pours his heart and soul into everything he does. We are thrilled he joined us at this very exciting time in DROOL’s latest chapter.”

Cable-Alexander added: “I was looking for a team that can support me and back my crazy ideas. Fred and Gen have so much incredible knowledge about the industry. Their dedication to pushing boundaries really excites me, while also remaining unbelievably kind and collaborative, which made them stand out.”

While the DROOL family continues to grow, the studio says it remains committed to its “better, not bigger” philosophy, staying intentionally small to focus on craft, collaboration, and creative excellence.
