Function find out what you’re made of
Latest spot Find out what you're made of comes from Arts & Letters x Function Health, directed by Tucker Bliss.
Function is the first health platform to bring together comprehensive lab testing and AI-powered MRI scans, giving individuals a complete view of their health with the goal of empowering everyone to live 100 healthy years.
Membership includes a series of lab tests that measure over 100 biomarkers across every organ system. Founded in 2022, Function was named one of TIME100’s Most Influential Companies earlier this year.
The platform “Find out what you’re made of” is a rousing call to action to our audience, inviting them to embark on the journey toward deeply understanding their health in a new way. It’s a celebration of the truth that every body is unique down to a cellular level. And finally, “Find out what you’re made of” is a promise from the brand. A promise that it is not only possible to get more clarity into your body, but that when you get that clarity, you can unlock even more potential to live your fullest life.
The centrepiece of the integrated campaign under the new platform is a :60 hero film titled 61,000,000 Marias. The spot explores the idea of bioindividuality through the most common woman’s name in the world. While there are 61,000,000 Marias globally, each is totally unique at a biological level. We follow different Marias across the globe with their own nuances, quirks, and hopes.

The second video series will launch in October as both a :30 and a :15. Rather than showcasing a wide range of Marias, this piece focuses on a single story: John. While his name may be ordinary, his biology is anything but–illustrating how Function addresses one person’s unique health needs and making the impact of personalised care tangible for the viewer.
The integrated campaign is running on OLV and streaming, with a concentrated push in New York across broadcast, cable, radio and OOH. You may even see some of Function Health’s OOH in Grand Central among other locations, as the brand increases their brand presence in New York. The campaign will run through early November, followed by Function’s holiday creative, then refreshed work in mid-December for New Year’s.
Directed by Tucker Bliss and shot in Toronto, the campaign reflects a seamless collaboration in bringing this vision to life. The Director of Photography, Anthony Carella, also shot Function’s Long Live Moms Mother’s Day campaign, bridging Function’s creative evolution.
Andy Grayson, Director of Strategy, A&L said: “Collaborating with Function on this new platform has been deeply rewarding. At its core, this work supports their mission to break down barriers and help people truly understand their own health and the unique stories their bodies tell. This platform celebrates that product truth and unites it with the audience truth that we are all a ‘one-of-one’.”
Kelly Johnson, VP of Brand, Function Health adds: “It’s crazy how we live our whole lives in a singular body, but have very little sense of what’s actually happening inside. Function was created to help real, everyday people understand what’s going on under the proverbial hood, what’s working just fine and what could use a little tune-up to feel and live better. This campaign highlights how unique we all are and how Function helps you understand and optimise that bio-individuality.”
