Creative studio Where the Buffalo Roam (WTBR) has appointed Meredith Williams as Head of Brand Development.

A seasoned force in account management, Williams brings two decades of agency experience, including a long tenure at Goodby Silverstein & Partners where she led the account management department and oversaw major accounts such as PepsiCo and Frito-Lay.

In her new role, Williams will lead WTBR’s growing direct-to-brand offering, further strengthening the studio’s strategic and creative partnerships with clients including Google, Vespa, Nike, Logitech, Webflow, and Stripe.

“Over the past three years, we’ve been doing more and more direct-to-brand work, and we needed someone to help us take it to the next level,” says WTBR co-founder Tim Pries, who previously worked with Williams at eLevel, the post and motion department at Goodby Silverstein & Partners. “Meredith ups our game serving clients in this space. She is a true whisperer in client relations and the creative problem-solver brands need.”

“With our collective experience on both the agency and production sides, we understand that budgets, expectations, and ways of working have evolved, and today’s content must be produced differently,” says Williams, whose previous client portfolio includes TD Ameritrade, Comcast, and Maybelline. “WTBR is a true partner in helping brands meet these needs, and I’m thrilled to drive that vision forward with their amazing team and clients. And we all believe that we should have some fun while we do it. Somewhere along the way, we lost the fun, and we want to get back to it.”

Williams will not only expand WTBR’s brand partnerships, but also ensure the studio’s full production services, from live-action direction to editorial, VFX, animation and design, are integrated and thriving under a unified vision.

“There’s such a wellspring of talent at WTBR,” she adds. “It’s an eclectic crew of artists and storytellers who bring a wealth of experience, a huge asset for brands that want to create fresh and culturally resonant content. By combining creative and production thinking from the start, our teams can work seamlessly, faster, and smarter across the entire project.”

Williams spent 13 years at Goodby Silverstein & Partners, including eight years as Director of Account Management and Global Group Account Director. Her career began in New York City at Gotham and JWT, managing Johnson & Johnson’s global OTC brands.

“I knew my next full-time role needed to be at a place committed to bending to the shifts in our industry right now, and WTBR was the obvious landing spot,” she concludes. “They have the infrastructure, the talent, and, most importantly, genuinely good people to make it all possible, just like their motto: ‘Be good people and make good things.’ You can feel it in everything they do here.”
