Gorgeously crafted by pinkrabbit director Patrick Louwerse, this delightful trio of 15-second spots mark a collaboration between Amsterdam skate brand POP and Fullcount & Co., a Japanese denim brand from Osaka.
Shot on Kodak 16mm, the films capture the Dutch city through a perspex window upon which streets from Osaka have been painted, creatively blending the two cities using a technique inspired by the traditional art of matte painting.
Director Louwerse added: “We wanted to explore how two cities could meet through film. Every frame combines painted detail, analogue textures, and lived-in spaces. This technique required more experience, and more math, than we hoped for. But we’re incredibly happy with the result: three beautiful short films.
