First appearing in last year’s spot directed by Jonathan Glazer, actor Scarlett Johansson has returned to star in Prada's strange and humour-infused story celebrating its Galleria bag, this year directed by Yorgos Lanthimos through Partner Films and Superprime.
With creative direction by Ferdinando Verderi, the story playfully delves into themes of magic and ritual juxtaposed against a modern-day setting, as the actor wittily articulates a complex list of potion ingredients and instructions.
Rainwater drips from a non-blooming cherry tree, the bark of a medium-sized dog and a nylon guitar string tied in two knots are among the unusual components of Johansson's spell, which results in multiple versions of herself appear, renewed and transformed over and over.
