The Directors Guild director Daisuke Izumi has directed a playful narrative for SMBC Mobit, a Japanese financial company that offers a wide range of loans.
The story follows a female celebrity played by Fuka Koshiba, who takes on the role of a courageous ship captain. She sets out to rescue one of her crew members, a male celebrity played by Naoto Takenaka. However, things don’t go as planned. Every few seconds, something unexpected happens, and the situation quickly spirals into chaos. It’s wild, unpredictable, and full of twists, just like life itself.

The underlying message is that life, much like this “jungle” of a journey, is full of surprises. But when the unexpected happens, you can rely on SMBC Mobit's card loan as a safety net.
Consumer finance commercials are heavily regulated in Japan and direct promotional claims are prohibited. So a more playful and absurd storyline was crafted, the result being a fun, slightly over-the-top narrative that still delivers the core message: “Life throws a lot at you, but SMBC Mobit is there for you.”
