Stept has signed director Toby Morris for US commercial representation.

Based in Sydney, Morris is known for infusing his work with a rich cinematic style, balancing strong performances with unexpected visual worlds. His addition bolsters Stept’s roster of globally minded directors that create standout work with emotional impact and visual edge.

Morris has directed high-profile campaigns for clients including Qantas, Coca-Cola, The Iconic, Toyota, Telstra, Tourism Australia, and Nestlé. His ability to elevate commercial narratives through creative storytelling and carefully crafted visuals has made him a go-to talent for brands seeking fresh, elevated work.

“Toby’s work simply knocked us out,” said Joe Biggins, managing director at Stept. “His stunning visual sensibility is, possibly, only outmatched by his wit. Toby brings the kind of vision and versatility that brands are hungry for. His commercial work is sharp, human, and visually inventive, he knows how to make a spot feel like a story, not just an ad.”

Morris began his career in filmmaking before finding his stride in the commercial space. With a background that spans everything from feature films to branded digital content, he’s developed a strong creative point of view: bring performance to the forefront, and never sacrifice style for simplicity.

“Commercials are such a powerful creative medium,” said Morris. “You have a short window to make people feel something or see the world in a new way. I love the challenge of doing that with originality, great casting, and bold visuals.”

In addition to his commercial work, Morris has directed award-winning short films and music videos that have screened at festivals including TIFF, Flickerfest, St Kilda, and HollyShorts. While he remains passionate about narrative work, his primary focus at Stept will be on pushing the boundaries of commercial storytelling.

With this signing, Stept continues to expand its roster of directors who blur the lines between advertising and entertainment, delivering standout content for brands across the globe.
