Tantrum launches full _ai division with two new signings
The London production company expands its roster with Danny_t and C_bevil.
A new division at London-based production company Tantrum will focus exclusively on _ai filmmaking, with two new signings joining the roster: Danny_t and C_bevil (aka Christian Bevilacqua).
Danny_t, based in Taipei, specialises in human stories told with emotional resonance, often set against cinematic backdrops. With a background as a director and colourist, his work reflects a strong command of craft. “I compare generative _ai to an actor who takes 80% instruction from the director and the rest they improvise,” he said. “It’s exciting to see what each new iteration brings.”
London-based C_bevil is an established director in advertising and music videos, known for combining strong visual effects execution with live performance and striking cinematography.
Tantrum introduced the first director in its new _ai division, Maike, in August.
The company’s Managing Directors and Owners, Stuart Wrigglesworth and Will Waters, described the move as a natural step: “For many this new era of _ai feels scary. People in every industry around the world are wondering, ‘Will I still have a job?’—a rational fear. For us, whilst we love traditional filmmaking and will continue to relish traditional film projects, _ai feels like an opportunity to up the ante with creativity, to deliver better and with more efficiency than ever before. You can stick your heels in or embrace this new toy and grab everything it has to offer.
"It’s constantly evolving and we are now evolving with it. And we are loving the new experience. It’s exciting to have three super talented and unique _ai directors who truly understand everything about filmmaking to travel with us on our _ai journey.”
