The Den signs editor Katarína Gramatová
Award-winning editor and director joins the boutique editorial house, bringing her poetic visual sensibility and story-driven instincts to the roster.
The Den has officially welcomed acclaimed editor Katarína Gramatová to its roster. With a background in both editing and directing, Gramatová is known for her poetic, rhythmic style and a deep-rooted passion for dramaturgy, which informs every cut she makes.
A master’s degree holder in film editing and an award-winning filmmaker in her own right, Gramatová has directed two celebrated films and edited major campaigns for brands such as Barclay’s, Sprite, Oppo, Xiaomi, Lego, and Samsung. Her work has garnered international recognition, including a Vimeo Staff Pick for Elderbrook’s Why Do We Shake In The Cold? and a Ciclope Festival nomination for Stromae’s Santé.
Whether crafting deadpan comedy with perfectly timed edits or shaping emotive narratives with visual depth, Gramatová’s versatility as a storyteller stands out. She is deeply collaborative, often joining productions early in development, working from the script stage, editing on set, and helping guide the narrative arc long before post-production begins.
“Katarína has a remarkable instinct,” says longtime collaborator and director Jara Moravec. “She cuts through noise with precision, whether it’s trimming a false performance or refining timing. It’s rare to find an editor who’s also an accomplished director, with a feature film wrapped before the age of 30.”
Gramatová was named one of the Top 10 Emerging European Directors by European Film Promotion’s Future Frames programme and has a debut feature film set for release later this year.
“I’m beyond excited to join The Den,” said Gramatová. “I admire all of my roster-mates and I’m thrilled to be part of an editorial house so committed to thoughtful storytelling. Everyone I’ve met at The Den has been wonderful, and I look forward to this next chapter.”
Rachel Seitel, co-founder of The Den Editorial, adds: “Katarína brings an intuitive sense of rhythm and a thoughtful, story-first approach to every project. She listens closely, collaborates deeply, and enhances every creative vision with clarity and care. We couldn’t be prouder to have her join our team.”
