The Quarry welcomes editor Jack Cantrell

The Quarry announce the addition of Jack Cantrell to its acclaimed and ever-eclectic editing roster.
Originally from Dublin, Ireland, Cantrell discovered filmmaking as a teenager, documenting the lives of his friends and cutting the footage on a cracked version of Final Cut Pro. Since those early experiments, he has explored various aspects of filmmaking, initially focusing on directing. In recent years, however, Cantrell found his rhythm in the edit suite, developing a deep affinity for the craft of post-production.
Over the past two years, Cantrell has quickly amassed a striking and diverse portfolio, editing work for high-profile clients including Gucci, FIFA, Yves Saint Laurent, Under Armour, MyTheresa, and Bord Gáis Energy.
“I’m extremely excited and feel incredibly lucky to be joining The Quarry,” says Cantrell. “Although I’ve been in the industry for over a decade, I still consider myself relatively new to editing, so I never imagined this kind of partnership would come so soon. From our very first conversations, it was clear The Quarry would be the perfect place to grow, learn, and form the kind of friendships that make this industry so special.”
In addition to his flourishing commercial reel, Cantrell is gaining momentum in long-form work, having recently edited the boxing documentaries Battle of the Baddest and Undisputed, covering Tyson Fury’s headline bouts against Francis Ngannou and Oleksandr Usyk, respectively. Commercially, his recent work on Adidas’ Originals United campaign has also drawn significant attention.
“I’ve had the chance to explore long-form projects and that’s a world I’d love to continue dipping into,” Cantrell adds. “But right now, I’m focused on building my short-form reel further, especially stories that are raw, human, and emotionally driven.”
Ben Campbell, Editor and Partner at The Quarry, says: “The first time I saw Jack’s cutting, it was a no-brainer to invite him in. He has a brilliant, rhythmic instinct and brings a flexibility and creative understanding that’s rare. Jack just gets it, he knows how to adapt, and he brings real storytelling ability to the table.”
Looking ahead, Cantrell is eager to broaden his reel and connect with new collaborators: “I’ve been lucky to work with incredibly talented people throughout my career. I’m looking forward to building on those relationships, and forming new ones, through this exciting chapter at The Quarry.”
