Trim Editing opens Los Angeles office
The London-founded company expands its US presence with a new base in West Adams and editor Jamie Foord joining as Partner.
The latest expansion at Trim Editing sees the company open a new Los Angeles office in West Adams, with editor Jamie Foord joining as Partner alongside Managing Partner and Executive Producer Michael Miller.
Founded in London in 2004, Trim has built a reputation for editorial craft under the leadership of Founder Paul Hardcastle, Edit Partner Tom Lindsay and Managing Partner Jemma Daniel. The new LA base deepens the company’s work in the US, providing a space for directors, clients, editors and collaborators.
“Once we discovered West Adams, we knew that’s where we wanted to be,” said Hardcastle. “It has a really strong identity that mirrors our London location and is so well located for people, whatever side they are based. The local community has been so welcoming, be it residents who pop in to see what we are up to or production partners who have also moved here.
“We started Trim with the rule to chase creative ideas so the work can do the talking for us. Having LA partners Michael and Jamie with their similar creative sensibilities has been a fantastic start to this west coast chapter, and I'm excited to see where it goes.”
Lindsay added: “We have created a wonderful space in London that has been the springboard for some of our most successful editors. It is now time to bring that base and its culture to LA.”
“The time has come for us to establish an LA base that will support both existing and new relationships,” said Daniel. “The US has become such a large part of our work and the overall fabric of Trim. We have been so lucky to work with incredible directors and agencies in LA, and we’re excited to continue our work in the US market.”
Foord joins with decades of experience, including a long tenure at Rock Paper Scissors and multiple AICP and Clio Awards. A London native, he built his reputation in the US as an editor known for story-driven work across campaigns for Nike, Apple, Tinder, Xbox, Calvin Klein, Ford and the NBA.
“Trim was a no-brainer for me,” said Foord. “The work that Trim has made over the years is second to none, and to be so humble and decent simultaneously is pretty amazing. My long-term hope is to continue developing as an editor while helping to build something special with Trim US. I can’t wait for us to add more good people to our roster and see what we create.”
“This is such a special time for us at Trim,” said Miller. “We have Paul Hardcastle here in LA now, and couldn’t be more thrilled to have Jamie join us as a partner. He’s not only an amazing editor, but he really cares about nurturing the next generation of talent, which is super important to us. We’re also very proud of our new space in West Adams. Paul, Jamie, and I really enjoyed sourcing authentic furniture from the ’50s and ’60s. There’s a really nice energy that can be felt when you walk through the doors.”
