A new signing at Somesuch sees acclaimed director Alma Har’el join the company’s roster for commercial representation in the UK and the Netherlands.

Har’el is recognised for her genre-blurring approach to storytelling, merging documentary and narrative filmmaking with striking visuals and emotional depth. Her commercial work includes campaigns for brands such as Airbnb, Coca-Cola and Stella Artois, alongside award-winning shorts like Jellywolf for Chanel x i-D, which combined sci-fi and feminist themes with fragrance branding. The piece earned accolades from Clio, Tribeca X, D&AD and Ciclope.

Most recently, Har’el directed Soho Sneaker, a thriller-inspired spot for Coach’s Not Just for Walking campaign, starring Charles Melton. The film follows a surreal, paparazzi-chased narrative as the actor memorises lines while weaving through New York’s streets.

Her debut feature Honey Boy won the Sundance Special Jury Prize for Vision and Craft and earned her the DGA Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in a First-Time Feature. Har’el became the first woman in Directors Guild of America history to be nominated in both commercial and narrative directing categories.

Expanding into television, she is the creator, writer and director of the upcoming limited series Lady in the Lake, starring Natalie Portman and Moses Ingram.

Har’el is also the founder of FREE THE WORK, a non-profit initiative advocating for equity in media that redefined the advertising bidding process and influenced inclusive hiring in over 180 countries. Through her creative studio Jellywolf, she partnered with P&G Studios to develop TIME’s 100 Women of the Year project and continues to create branded content that blends cultural commentary and storytelling.

“Somesuch! Boy, their office smells great. I’ve been a longtime fan of so many directors on their roster, and always admired their boundary-pushing work and commitment to visionary storytelling,” said Har’el. “I’m thrilled to join the party and explore new creative ground together in the UK and Netherlands.
