Created by Leo Burnett for the Czech car brand Škoda this beautifully scripted spot playfully addresses assumptions that electric car drivers are hippy, tech-obsessed kale-enthusiasts.

Directed by Damian Shatford, through Biscuit, the spot is set in a typically staid English cul-de-sac and follows a curtain-twitching community gossiping about the new arrivals.

As the family’s EV charging point is installed, the neighbours share the goss, exchanging rumours that they must be ‘part of a cult’, ‘tree huggers’ or have ‘paid for their car with crypto’ due to their choice of motor. After the entire neighbourhood has descended on the family's house to watch them move in, they discover they’re actually refreshingly ordinary.
