Colourist Houmam Abdallah heads to Electric Theatre Collective
Abdallah returns to the Electric family to help shape visual storytelling alongside some of the industry's top directors, DPs, and creatives.
Electric Theatre Collective’s newly launched New York City studio has just added major firepower to its team: acclaimed colourist Houmam Abdallah.
Taking residence in a state-of-the-art suite at 166 Crosby Street, Abdallah returns to the Electric family to help shape visual storytelling alongside some of the industry's top directors, DPs, and creatives.
A longtime Electric alumnus, Abdallah began his creative journey directing music videos for Riff Raff and Black Dog, where he discovered a passion for colour. Over the past 15 years, Abdallah has built a formidable career between London and Los Angeles, with credits at The Mill, MPC LA, Milk Studios, and Electric Theatre Collective.
His work includes collaborations with directing talents such as Sing J. Lee, Jason Bergh, Courtney Phillips, Ibra Ake, and Jonas Lindstroem. Abdallah’s visual signature can be seen across campaigns for brands like Nike, adidas, YSL, Louis Vuitton, McLaren, and Audi.
One of Abdallah’s most celebrated projects, Sing J. Lee’s The Accidental Getaway Driver, which won at Sundance, remains a personal milestone. “From crafting the LUTs to delivering the DCP, it was a labour of love,” he says. “For me, that’s more meaningful than the trophy.”
Of the move to NYC, Abdallah adds: “If London was my high school, LA was my graduation. New York feels like the next adventure, with all the comforts and familiarity of Electric’s relentless energy. I’m more focused than ever, and can’t wait to work with the very best talent, growing within my craft.”
Luke Morrison, Head of Colour at Electric, shares, “Houmam’s passion and dedication to the craft is second to none. I know our stateside clients will be enamoured by his talent. We're all excited to be welcoming him back!”
