Honor Society and MacGuffin Films unite
Honor Society and MacGuffin Films merge to form a bicoastal production company, combining expertise in live-action and tabletop filmmaking.
Honor Society and MacGuffin Films have joined forces, forming a bicoastal production powerhouse under the leadership of Honor Society founder and managing partner Megan Kelly.
This partnership brings together Honor Society’s expertise in lifestyle, comedy, and live-action production with MacGuffin’s renowned specialisation in food and product photography. By combining resources and creative talent, the companies aim to push the boundaries of live-action and tabletop filmmaking.
“MacGuffin is a beloved company with an impeccable reputation, and partnering with Honor Society presents an incredible opportunity,” says Kelly. “This collaboration unites two companies with a shared passion for creativity while giving our directors the flexibility to work within either brand. Together, we gain the resources to expand both creatively and professionally.”
Honor Society is a female-owned, bicoastal production company known for producing high-calibre projects in collaboration with top directors, agencies, and brands. MacGuffin Films, led by president Michael Salzer and executive producer Sam Wool, is one of the world’s leading tabletop commercial production companies, specialising in precise food and product cinematography.
The newly formed venture offers expanded capabilities, providing seamless support for productions of any scale. While maintaining a bicoastal and global reach, the company’s New York office serves as a central hub, featuring three in-house studios, industrial kitchens, on-site rigging and prop creation, as well as full editorial services to support productions across both brands.
“Joining forces with Honor Society allows us to offer our clients elite talent for live-action filmmaking while enabling seamless creative execution across our brands,” says Wool. “Having a roster that includes live-action directors with food expertise gives us the ability to explore new offerings and continue to grow creatively.”
The combined roster features a curated selection of directors with diverse experience across the industry. Notable names include Cary & Jon, Chris Bean, Cynthia Wade, Nick Fuglestad, Marie Constantinesco, Molly Schiot, Melissa Bolton-Klinger, and Jesse James McElroy. Nearly 50% of the roster comprises female directors.
With this merger, Honor Society and MacGuffin Films reinforce their commitment to creative excellence, expanding their ability to produce dynamic, high-quality content across multiple genres and formats.
