Everyone is odd in their own unique way, and every couple has its quirks and eccentricities, though it's fair to say that few are as odd or eccentric as the couple in Hannah Cheesman's new short film.
The trio of short scenes, each prefaced by a proverb-like statement and which are collectively called Marriaginalia, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival as part of it's Strange Cuts Program.
In the film, which is directed by Soft Citizen's Hannah Cheesman, an unnamed husband and wife are put in three different situations in which communication is, at best, confused or possibly even wilfully vague, with the stand-out moment being the appearance of, well, let's just say an unnaturally large, starchy, tuberous vegetable.
