Bi-coastal post-production studio Modern Post has promoted Mike DeFilipps to Executive Producer of VFX and Finishing in its New York office, expanding its leadership team alongside East Coast Executive Producer Christina Mansi and West Coast Executive Producer Andrew Illson.

Since joining Modern Post as a VFX Finishing Producer in 2021, DeFilipps has played an instrumental role in the expansion of the studio’s VFX department. He has overseen major campaigns and complex VFX projects, supporting the growth of both the East and West Coast offices, and instilling confidence throughout the production process. His credits include high-profile collaborations with leading brands such as Calvin Klein, Tom Ford, Dior, Polo Ralph Lauren, and Old Navy.

“With Mike leading the team, we are uniquely positioned to integrate VFX more seamlessly into our process; it can effortlessly become a part of the creative vision,” says William Town, Founder of Modern Post. “Mike has built trust at every stage, making the conversation fluid and efficient.”

DeFilipps comments: “At Modern Post, our VFX department offers precision and elevation through an in-house team of senior artists specialising in 2D animation, compositing, VFX beauty, and clean-up. By collaborating with top CG studios and a wide network of talented artists, we’re able to scale effortlessly to meet any project’s demands. We are problem-solvers who pride ourselves on delivering solutions that exceed our clients’ expectations.”

With over 14 years of industry experience, DeFilipps began his career in post-production at a young age, following in his father’s footsteps. As Finishing Producer at P.S. 260, he led the motion graphics, VFX, and finishing departments across the company’s Boston, New York, and Los Angeles offices, managing projects from start to finish and refining workflows to ensure top-tier execution. His passion and expertise have continued to drive innovation at Modern Post, where he is committed to pushing the creative boundaries of VFX and finishing.
