Opening on a doctor's devastating diagnosis given to a woman and her husband, this film for the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation is a moving portrayal of the power of hope and love.
Directed by Rune Milton through Revolver Films and set to the haunting sound of Joep Beving’s Midwayer, the two-minute-twenty-second spot, called Carry The Fire, shows us the couple's past memories and present struggles.
The film, which has cinematography by Paul Meyers, illustrates the couple's strength to endure the impossible, with the husband's journey to the sun – the source of life for our world – a metaphor for his hope for a cure and the love for his wife.
Carry the Fire is both intimate and expansive, and highlights how love is the force that binds us together, with the sun’s fire a powerful beacon of strength. The film asks us to imagine what it means to keep going, and to hope that one day we can overcome this disease for all.
