Created for Scania by Åkestam Holst, the campaign's hero film is a cinematic caper, directed by Max Sherman through Bacon, that follows the adventures of two silly siblings stranded in a desert with no water and in dire need of a lift.
But despite their precarious situation, they refuse to settle for just any ride. But when the perfect hitch appears it leads to a terrible dilemma.
Along with the strong narrative, the film is enhanced by the song Hey Brother, a 2013 hit for Swedish artist Avicii, here rearranged and sung by Bryan Adams. "The film is quite epic, and so is Avicii’s song. We felt the voice had to be at that level too,” says Joakim Khoury, Executive Creative Director at Åkestam Holst.
