Sidney Van Wichelen joins Pulse Films
The Cannes Lions Grand Prix winner signs for UK commercial representation, bringing a cinematic approach to storytelling across global campaigns.
Adding to its commercial roster, Pulse Films has signed Sidney Van Wichelen for UK representation.
The Cannes Lions Grand Prix-winning filmmaker is known for balancing humour, heart, and human insight with a cinematic sensibility across commercial formats.
Ranked third Director of the Year at Cannes Lions 2022, Van Wichelen has directed campaigns for global brands including Spotify, Decathlon, Swatch, and Adidas. His work blends short-form cinema with commercial content, earning recognition from D&AD, Clio, The One Show, and Eurobest.
With a background in advertising and a Master’s in Film Direction from LUCA School of Arts, he combines creative craft with strategic instinct. Comedy remains a personal throughline, seen in spots like Ligue Cardio, Voo Wifi Dance, and Feet, while themes of mental health, inclusivity, and social impact feature in collaborations with organisations such as Psychodon and Special Olympics.
“Joining Pulse felt like an easy and obvious decision,” said Van Wichelen. “The company has built a long-standing reputation for producing bold, standout films, exactly the kind of work I want to be making. What truly excites me is the opportunity to collaborate with some of the most talented creatives in the industry. Producers with deep experience and vision—I’ve felt a strong sense of trust and alignment from the start.”
Jamie Walker, Managing Director at Pulse, added: “Sidney’s work is both funny and sensitive, telling stories that are emotionally charged, honest and often surprising. He brings a sense of clarity and intention to everything he directs and we are thrilled to welcome him to Pulse and make some magic.”
