Independent production company Tinygiant has officially welcomed acclaimed comedic filmmaker Doron Max Hagay to its directorial roster.

Known for his sharp wit, subversive voice, and boundary-pushing visual storytelling, Hagay brings a fresh comedic edge to Tinygiant’s growing stable of talent. His signing marks a strategic addition as the company deepens its investment in bold, original voices shaping the future of entertainment and advertising.

Hagay joins from The Directors Bureau and makes his debut as the only guest director in Season 4 of HBO’s award-winning comedy HACKS. His portfolio spans film, television, and digital media, with standout credits including two seasons as segment director on Saturday Night Live, the Critics Choice Award–nominated Joel Kim Booster: Psychosexual (Netflix), and Showtime’s Matt Rogers: Have You Heard of Christmas?, featured in year-end best-of lists from The New York Times and Vulture.

With over ten Vimeo Staff Picks, Hagay’s short films (Vape, Company, Women Are Mean) have earned cult status for their offbeat humour, strong character work, and stylised visual identity. He is currently in post-production on his first feature film, She Keeps Me Young, co-written with Katy Fullan and Blair Beeken and produced by Tinygiant and International Pigeon Productions.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the Tinygiant roster, a company whose values and creative ambition I respect, not just for the work they put out, but for the way they champion directors at every stage of their careers,” said Hagay. “Their commitment to individuality and collaboration is rare, and I’m so excited to work together in the advertising space.”

Tinygiant, now in its 10th year, is a WBENC-certified, women-owned company led by Veronica Diaferia and Sara Eolin, known for pushing creative boundaries across commercial and narrative work. With clients like Adidas, Google, Verizon, and agencies including BBDO, Saatchi & Saatchi, and 72andSunny, their output has garnered accolades from Cannes Lions, Clio Awards, Webbys, and the Anthem Awards.

“Doron brings a singular filmmaking voice marked by sharp wit, inventive storytelling, and an unmistakably original perspective,” said Neil Champagne, Head of Development at Tinygiant. “Having worked with him on the narrative side, I can attest firsthand to his unique ability to elevate comedic material. We’re thrilled to now leverage his exceptional talent in the commercial space.”

With Hagay onboard, Tinygiant further cements its status as a creative home for filmmakers redefining the rules of comedy, culture, and storytelling.
