Slavishly following your team around the country isn't too unusual; football fans are a notoriously tribal bunch.
But, usually, the referee - those yellow (formerly black) clad men in the middle - are the focus of most people's anger. Not so in this new spot for Argentine sports channel TyC Sports, which introduces us to a man whose obsession is not with the teams, but with the referees.
Created by Mercado McCann Buenos Aires and directed by directing duo Welcome [Luciano Podcaminsky and Sebastian Schor] through Welcome Content, the two-minute spot is a faux-documentary which shows us our official obsessed hero and the lengths to which he goes to fly the flag - sometimes literally - for his heroes. We also hear from his parents who are perplexed at this behaviour as their son lists his favourite refs, shows off his framed referee shirts and lets off black flares.
