magna studios partners with AI studio LIPSTICK
Powered by magna, LIPSTICK will now be able to bring its AI-driven capabilities and collective to the UK, following launches in Germany and France.
Production company magna studios has announced a new partnership with LIPSTICK, the pioneering AI studio founded by director Sebastian Strasser.
Powered by magna, the partnership will bring LIPSTICK’s high-end, AI-driven production solutions to the UK, following launches in Berlin and Paris over the summer. LIPSTICK fuses production, VFX and forward-driving AI talent and tools with recent work from the studio including the highly awarded Renault R5 Revolution, and The Rhythm of Life for Vodafone, one of the first brand films made entirely by AI artists in 2024.
The partnership will enable magna’s globally curated roster of filmmakers to maximise the opportunities presented by fast evolving AI technology, giving them cutting edge tools to elevate high quality content at scale. LIPSTICK’s innovative AI solutions and AI-native artists will open a door for advertisers to access new creative tools, while providing opportunities for exploring innovative and ethical production efficiencies.
This partnership builds on an ongoing collaboration with a number of magna’s filmmakers who are already working with LIPSTICK to leverage AI in content creation, including the multi-award-winning Brady Corbet, Sam Pilling, Ryan Chun, and Arthur Studholme.
“We see AI as another tool to help us tell more stories, take bolder steps and push creativity further, presenting new opportunities for our filmmakers and brand partners alike," said Davud Karbassioun, Co-CEO of magna studios.
"Sebastian has been leading the way in our industry for many years, both as a filmmaker obsessive with his craft but also by embracing and experimenting with these evolving tools and demonstrating how, in the right hands, AI-supported solutions can be both highly beneficial and ethical. We’re thrilled to be partnering with LIPSTICK in the UK to offer a unique destination into the future of visual storytelling.”
"Humans direct. Machines generate. AI only soars when the best pilots - experienced filmmakers with real education, refined taste and creative vision - are in control," commented LIPSTICK Founder Strasser. "In all the noise around AI, people forget the basics: Do you have something to say? And do you know how to say it? Without that, AI is just another tool producing meaningless content.
"That’s why we built Lipstick: to give directors full control - from concept to final pixel - using AI only in ways it becomes a true superpower. Watching our idea go from raw sketch to full-blown international momentum in under a year doesn’t feel like growth - it feels like ignition. That’s why partnering with Magna - a company that shares our vision, our values, and our appetite for pushing boundaries - isn’t just exciting. It’s strategic. Together, we’re helping shape the future - and backing the UK’s role as one of the most innovative homes for filmmaking and production."
