Leaning, quite knowingly, into the saccharine world of holiday romance movies, make-up brand Maybelline unveils this tongue-in-cheek mini-series, Maybe This Christmas, created by Maximum Effort.
Falling somewhere between a Hallmark Parody and a product demo, the story follows two neighbours played by Hot Frosty’s Lacey Chabert and Dustin Milligan, whose seasonal flirtation takes a dramatic turn when Chabert’s deepest secret comes to light.
Throughout, Maybelline’s Instant Eraser is woven into the drama, playing the role of the ultimate concealer. It’s super cheesy, but that’s the charm; a kitsch and corny ad that playfully sidesteps the tropes of beauty ads.
