Moirai Films announce the signing of William Armstrong for representation in the UK.

A Botswana-born, Denmark-based writer and director, Armstrong brings a wealth of international experience and a distinct cinematic voice to the Moirai roster. His work blends craft, emotion, and purpose, the kind of storytelling that sticks with you.

With over 15 years of experience directing global campaigns for Mercedes, Adidas, and Genesis, Armstrong has built a reputation for films that are visually arresting yet deeply human. He’s a Young Director Award and Kinsale Sharks Best New Director winner, recognised for merging striking aesthetics with genuine emotional storytelling.

Armstrong’s short films have screened at Tribeca, Cleveland, RiverRun, IndyShorts, Bolton, Odense, and over 50 international festivals. His work has been featured in The New Yorker and exhibited at the Trapholt Museum of Modern Art. In 2025, his screenplay The Beach of Stones earned recognition at several screenwriting festivals and will go into production as a proof of concept for a period drama series he’s developing for television.

“William’s work hits you on both a visual and emotional level,” says Andrew Porteous, Co-Founder at Moirai Films. “We love that balance, it’s what we’re all about at Moirai. We’re genuinely excited to back his vision here in the UK and to create work together that feels both bold and honest.”
