A Day in the Life of Andreas Nilsson
The Biscuit director takes us on a location-scouting tour & shares his obsession with Jay Veal's moustache.
It´s 09.03: In the restaurant at the beautiful Groot Hotel in Vancouver. What was supposed to be an ordinary breakfast turns into a wonderful surprise. My dear friend Jay Veal who I haven´t seen in a couple of weeks is growing a moustache.
09.48: I can´t stop looking at his moustache. It is filling me with endless joy. I can't wait to see it grow bigger.
11.05: We go and pick up our friend Alexis Ross to go scouting. Alexis is not a drinker but he reacts badly to cranberry juice.
13.20: After some hours work we need to stop for a coffee and look at Jay´s moustache again. It appears to have grown a bit since the morning.
15.28: Bravo. Success. Scouting is done.
16.12: In the lobby I manage to get a last look at Jay´s moustache before he heads up to his room. He claims it´s his first moustache but I have a hard time believing it. He looks like a man who was born with a moustache.
17.48: Our job can be stressful and you need to be careful not to obstruct your mental health. I really appreciate a moment of silence and meditate by staring out the window. Through my window I see Alexis on his way to the pool. The view hypnotises me and I fall asleep while standing up.
Time unknown: In my sleep I dream about the sculpture I saw earlier today. A thoughtful piece about friendship between young and old.
Time unknown: I also dream about Jean-Klårk, the friendly doorman at the hotel.
Time unknown: I dream about America's Got Talent.
21.12: Time for dinner. The locals recommends an Italian. I love meatballs. Jay brings a spoon from his family home in Georgia to the restaurant. It´s cool but I can´t take my eyes from that moustache. Love it.
22.47: What a successful day. We celebrate with some cranberry juice at the Country Club on Hastings.
23.39: In the lobby I get a last chance to look at Jay´s moustache before he disappears in the elevator.
Thank you life.
