An Aphex Twin soundtrack and vivid close-up camerawork are the basis for a very physical image. Carl Lewis sprints barefoot through New York’s streets and freeways, reaching the brink of the water. He sprints on in strong muscular strides, the surface barely rippling, to proceed up the side of the Statue of Liberty. Reaching her crown, he pauses to take his leap and we glimpse the soles of his feet - made from Pirelli tyre. Power is nothing without control.
