Academy in London signs Wilfrid Brimo; Jackie Oudney signs to Trio Films; Len Cheeseman joins Publicis Mojo Auckland; Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst directs for The Joneses; and more...

Academy has signed French director Wilfrid Brimo for commercials and music promos representation in the UK. Brimo, who won a Silver Lion in Cannes 2003 for his directorial debut World Championship of Athletics, has since worked on campaigns for Skoda, Reporters Sans Frontiere and Volkswagen. "We are absolutely delighted Wilfred has decided to join us," said Academy deputy MD Simon Cooper. "His reel shows amazing breadth and maturity, and he has talent and passion in abundance. We are very excited about working with him in the UK market."

Director Jackie Oudney, of Bollocks for VW fame (shots #83), has joined Trio Films in Los Angeles for US representation. Oudney, who won a Silver Lion at this year's Cannes as well as two golds, three silvers and one bronze at the Creative Circle Awards for Bollocks, is repped in the UK by The Bare Film Company.

Publicis Mojo Auckland has employed art director and typographer Len Cheeseman. Cheeseman, who has worked for Saatchi's Wellington for over a decade, will work alongside Publicis Mojo executive creative director Nick Worthington handling regional and local projects for the group. "I've long admired Len's work and it will be amazing to work together," said Worthington. "He is one of the few senior creatives in the business who has retained a unique youthful passion for great work."

Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst has signed with The Joneses for exclusive representation as a commercials director. This is Durst's first move into commercials direction, however he is an established music video director, having directed over 20 videos for his own band as well as other rock groups. The Joneses has also signed new director Adam Rosenblatt for commercial representation. Rosenblatt has worked in commercial production for seven years, working as an assistant for directors including Spike Jonze, Rocky Morton and Jake Scott, but this is his first signing as a commercials director.

Executive producer and managing director Ruben Goots of Belgian production company Czar.be has accepted an international position within the Czar group. Goots will now, alongside Dutchman Rick Smit, focus on general policy and help guide the company's creative vision. Goots is succeeded at Czar.be by Dis Huyghe, and the two will work side-by-side until January 2005.

Bicoastal Moo Management has signed photographer Michael Muller for exclusive US representation. Moo specialises in repping photographers for editorial and advertising assignments in the US, and Muller joins the likes of Tierney Gearon, Karina Taira and Matt Jones on the company's roster.

Director Darren Grant has signed to X-Ray Productions for commercials and merge@crossroads for music videos. Both companies are part of the Crossraods family of companies.

Thomas Winter Cooke in Santa Monica has signed director Michael Fueter for exclusive representation for commercial work. The move represents Fueter's first formal move into the US market, after achieving great success in Europe through Condor Films in Zurich.

Telecine artist Jamie Wilkinson has joined The Mill in London after eight years at VTR. Wilkinson's recent credits include work on spots for Peugeot and British Gas. He joins The Mill in November.

Rushes Post Production in London has appointed Danny Jones as senior producer. Jones returns to London after six years in New York, where he worked at Design Lab and most recently at Sideshow Creative.

Director Dan Fernbach, formerly of Baby Pictures, has launched a new production company, Static Films, based in London, and specialising in music videos. Fernbach has recently directed promos for bands including Tokyo Dragons, Reuben and Lucky Jim.

Attik in San Francisco has hired award-winning art director Wayne Hanson as creative director. Hanson joins the company from Lowe People in Stockholm, where he moved to in 2002 from Lowe in London.

Brand New School in Santa Monica has hired Rachel Kaminek as staff producer for its west coast studio. Kaminek joins from Sway Studio in LA.
