This week's hot shot is another cryptic wonder for mobile phone network 3 from WCRS. shots.net talked to directors Traktor about the ad, and found their replies almost as strange as the ad itself...
The spot, which is equal in oddness to WCRS's previous ads for the brand, was shot in Hong Kong and sees a group of women enjoying the pleasures of strange glowing pods, before police burst in and attempt to arrest them.
shots.net tried to get to the bottom of the ad by talking to directors Traktor, but, perhaps unsurprisingly, was left even more confused...
shots.net: Where did the idea for the ad come from?
Traktor: It came from deep within the bowels of London where the C meets the R of WCRS.
shots.net: Did you draw inspiration from anywhere in particular?
Traktor: We drew inspiration from the cardboard cut-out samurais in the reception of the hotel we were staying in. We would frequently kidnap them and act out key moments of the tall tale in Simon the creative's room. While he was sleeping. He got all the blame.
shots.net: How much freedom did 3 give you with the idea?
Traktor: The idea was liberated and rhythmic long before we met it. We only had to keep the ladies of the afternoon in order. It was not easy.
shots.net: Were there any funny/bizarre moments when shooting the ad?
Traktor:The whole process of shooting in Hong Kong is both funny and bizarre at regular intervals. We recommend it, but bring your own lifevest for under the seat.
Tuperzik airs in the UK from tomorrow (Thursday).
