Moves this week at Condor, Red Bee media, FilmCore, R!ot and Imaginary Forces

There's a whole host of new signings for London post house Condor. Andrew McNamara and Paul Kavanagh have moved from Red Bee media (formerly BBC Broadcast). Although Kavanagh has already started, McNamara is currently working on a consultancy basis, with a view to a permanent role in the new year. The pair have already embarked on a project for BBC2. Also, from December 12, David Appleby, formerly of MPC, joins the company as lead colourist. Grant McKean has come onboard to augment the online team, using Flame. He previously worked at Clear, as well as freelancing for variety of post houses. And last but not least, Tom McLoughlin has taken up the role of head of production, moving from a similar position at Triangle Post, and fronting up the London operation.

Red Bee Media is restructuring its management. Deep breath… "to deliver growth, company strategy; sales, marketing and communication; company wide client management; the research and development of new technologies and products are being brought together under an integrated Business Development department, with John Pink as director of business development". Chris Howe, chief technology officer, and Ruth Griffiths, director of access services, will join Business Development to help deliver on these key areas. The operations of Access Services, Playout and Media Services, the Production Village, Technology Support and Projects will be brought together as a single Operations Department. Richard Cartland has been appointed as director of operations to lead the merging of these areas.

FilmCore New York has hired commercials and music video editor Jon Stefansson. His credits include Virgin Mobile, Nike, ESPN and Coca-Cola, as well as the American Legacy Council's Truth campaign. Stefansson's arrival coincides with the formal launch of FilmCore's New York location in an all-new facility in the Flatiron District.

R!OT has brought on two award-winning visual effects supervisors. Firstly, Cris Blyth, formerly Visual Effects Supervisor at Digital Domain, becomes creative director based out of R!OT's Santa Monica office. While Toby Brockhurst joins as visual effects supervisor and senior artist. Brockhurst has held senior effects posts with the Moving Picture Company in London, A52 in West Hollywood and Sight Effects in Venice. He will be based out of R!OT Manhattan.

Imaginary Forces has named Renee Case of Renee Case & Co to handle mid-west sales for commercials. Case currently reps clients including the New York and London-situated music house Amber Music, the bicoastal production company Moxie Pictures and west-coast-based Gartner Films.
