Backyard in LA has added director Luis Carone to its roster. Originally a music video director, he has recently moved into commercials. His work includes a spot for mobile phone company Claro.
Scott Spanjich has joined cYclops productions as executive producer. Specialising in music videos, he moves from @radical/music and has worked with artists as diverse as Jay-Z, Dave Matthews and Korn.
Buenos Aires-based director David Preizler has left Reactor Films to create his own company, Marlin Films. He is available for US and Hispanic market work.
Nomad has added editor Jason Painter to its team. Previous to a stint of freelancing, Painter worked at Spotwelders for brands such as Zune and AT&T.
Rhinofx has signed VFX supervisor/artist Jim Rider to its feature film division. He previously worked on features such as Evan Almighty, Chicago and Titanic.
Smoke & Mirrors New York has added VFX supervisor/senior Flame artist Kirk Balden to its team. He most recently worked at A52 for clients including Microsoft, Nike, Lexus and Jeep.
