The 46th Kinsale Sharks took place this weekend on the Irish coast, with trophies galore for AMV BBDO and Gorgeous Enterprises.
Industry bods from across the globe gathered in the picturesque Cork town of Kinsale to see who came out top in the Broadcast, Promo, and inaugural Print categories at this year's awards. Just in case their trophy cabinet wasn't choc-a-bloc already, Fallon were awarded the Grand Prix for Cadbury Gorilla, while Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO London were crowned agency of the year for their services to clients and the creative industry.

The agency picked up 15 Sharks in the print category, including gold for their Museum of Childhood campaign posters, Curiosity and Robot. "I'm over the moon," described executive creative director Paul Brazier. "Every award is just as exciting as the last one." Commenting on the AMV's success, Brazier heralded its dedication to creativity: "It's always difficult to deconstruct success and I have a worry that if you analyze it too much it tends to crumble in your hands. We've just kept trying to do the best we can on every brand we work on and refuse to write stuff off as a non-opportunity that just pays the bills. That ultimately means you just end up with more good work to put forward to juries."
Other gold winners in the first ever Print awards included Belgian agency Duval Guillaume for their Bazooka campaign and Leo Burnett Buenos Aires for the Red Cross.
Over in the Broadcast category Gorgeous claimed the Palme D'or, bagging 11 Sharks in total. These included six gold Sharks for spots including Sony Play-Doh, co-directed by Frank Budgen, and Chris Palmer's Cycle Safety experiment for TFL. Other big hitters included MJZ, who went home with seven Sharks, and the Leo Burnett Group, who won eight Sharks across their global network.
And director Karen Cunningham of Spank brought her new director award tally up to four, winning the prize at Kinsale for her BBH film, When I Grow Up.
"The standard of work was very strong," described jury leader John Pallant, creative director for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Saatchi and Saatchi's. "I am sure I speak for all the jurors when I say that, despite all the hard work, it was the most fun possible. What makes Kinsale special is the place and the people - a chance to get together and celebrate the work in this beautiful environment with such a friendly, hospitable crowd."
